I’m the traveler behind this blog. I’ve been struggling to find the best way to share my travels with family, friends, and strangers. I’m not much of a social media person, and for my last two trips I experimented with a good old fashioned Google Slides slideshow. For the most part, I really enjoyed making them and they were received well when I shoved them into the inboxes of my unsuspecting loved ones. The slideshow format though takes me a bit of time to get out, and I felt constricted by keeping my commentary in photo captions. 

I hope that this blog will serve as a space for my friends and family to keep up with my travels, and provide an expansion on the Google Slides content I think that they love. And maybe it’ll help some random Internet strangers with their budget travels.

Some quick notables about me and my blog:

• I travel on a budget. And, unlike many people, I don’t include food in my budget. I eat even if I’m not traveling, and I live in an expensive city.
• Most often, I’m traveling solo. I sometimes travel with friends or meet friends or family at my destination for part of my travels.
• I love letter writing, and have a few pen pals. That’s what inspired the name of this blog, and the format of my posts.
